Xinc Continuous Integration Server
In 2007, the Open Source Xinc project took the lead. A continuous integration server for PHP. Continuous integration as an approach to guarantee quality has not yet spread to PHP world. The lack of quality control is one of the reasons why PHP has won the ill reputation of being a dirty elementary hackish script language.
The progress of Xinc within 3 months from a command line tool to a daemon distributed via PEAR with a friendly AJAX interface has greatly increased the interest in this tool. Xinc has been mentioned in several advanced PHP books as an essential tool for professional PHP programmers.
As a professional software engineer he:
- Developed a Java system for a German university.
- Created large volume payment gateways.
- Designed the architecture of Blog systems and online payment platforms.
- Migrated big installations.
Arno is currently contributing in these Open Source projects:
- Xinc – project lead
- Akelos – core team
- Phing – bug fixes
- Lightpress 2 – main developer
